The Best Weekend Ever!

Forgive me, my gentle and very small audience,

I am officially the worst blogger ever, but I'm going to try to be better about it. Bare with me, I'll fall into the rhythm of this eventually!
So, I had probably the best weekend ever, and I have to spout about it! I competed in the regional NATS competition in Lincoln. Now, if you've never done NATS before, I'll translate: National Association of Teachers of Singing. It's basically a singing contest for college students, and while I've done well in previous years, I've never beaten a former friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) and I'd always assumed that I never would. I'd come to terms with the fact that, when it comes to classical music, she and her loud high notes would always reign supreme. And I know it's rather un-Christian of me, but so help me, I actually came out on top this time, winning senior classical women and upper level musical theatre. I actually think the girl who got 2nd in classical should have won, but we both beat her, and this is terrible, but we were so excited. I've gotta give props to the other girls in that category, as they were all absolutely amazing. I know it had to have been a totally difficult decision for the judges, and I was completely and utterly shocked that I got 1st place. I guess all that praying paid off!
On a side note, thanks to all my friends and family who were there. I was so glad to have people out there to look at and smile at and sing for, and thanks so much for being there. You're all amazing!
But the problem came up yet again: Opera or Musical Theatre? Do I really have to choose? I think I could possibly enjoy it both, but I really don't want to go back to school right away! I guess I'll have to just figure it out. And then today, Jack (Garrison, head of the theatre dept.) threw out the idea of going to grad school for theatre, which was flattering, but . . .
WHY THE HECK IS HE GIVING ME SOMETHING ELSE TO FIGURE OUT? Argh, I guess it's great to have options, but still, deciding absolutely sucks!
And so, gentle audience, I have a lot to figure out in my last year and a half! And you'll hear about it the entire way. MUAH!

Let's not forget the other two "Miller Girls" who were practically peeing their pants with pride! We had an awesome time, too!
