a GREAT movie

Hola, gentle audience!

2 posts in 2 days, wow that's pretty good for me.

This post is a shameless movie recommendation, namely "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". It was absolutely amazing. I went in expecting something really really scary, so I went with 2 guys from the show I'm in (ironically Jesus and Judas from the production of "Godspell" I'm currently in!) who put up with me burying my eyes in their arms. Honestly, though, it wasn't that scary, more spiritual. The premise is that a girl, Emily Rose, died days after having an unsuccessful exorcism performed on her. The priest in charge is charged with negligent homicide, and the lawyer chosen to defend him is a self proclaimed agnostic, so you can pretty much imagine the change of heart that happens there. The scary, intense scenes alternate with intense courtroom drama scenes that are all equally amazing. The girl who plays Emily is incredible, though I hope that she doesn't go through what the girl in "The Exorcism" went through, namely always being known as the exorcism girl and never really getting work again. Laura Linney also turns in a really good performance as the priest's lawyer. In short gentle audience, it's a great work that i highly recommend.

P.S. If you want more info about the Godspell production I'm in, drop me a line!
